Once
you made your papua holiday package with

PASSPORT :
Passport must be valid for
at least six months after your date of DEPARTURE
from Indonesia.
Four additional passport
photographs and two photocopies of your passport
will be needed for the special permits as soon as we
arrive in West Papua.
PAYMENT : Due to
limit access, we recommend visitors to bring
appropriate amount of Indonesia Rupiah. Other
currency may not acceptable in interior area of
Papua.
MALARIA PROPHYLAXIS :
We are traveling in the un-spoilt area of Indonesia
where it is still not enough development and lack of
medical services. For this reason, we recommend you
to consult with your doctor at home for Malaria
protection.

A
note about Footwear and Socks
Lightweight (synthetic/leather) trail shoes are the
footwear of choice for West Papua. We recommend that
you break in the shoes before the trip. Make sure
that you can comfortably walk in them for up to
eight hours. A synthetic trekking sock with extra
padding on the balls and heels of the sock is
generally recommended for West Papua. For higher
altitudes and the associated low temperatures, we
would recommend a synthetic/wool blend sock.

the new autonomy law governing Papua, all tour and
independent groups must use a travel company that is
registered in Papua. You must show proof of
using a registered tour and travel company within
Papua, before you will receive
your surat jalan (travel permit) from the
police.
Many tour groups have been barred from traveling in
Papua because they did not follow the new

CUISINES
Papeda is the most famous culinary food is a
specialty of Papua that tourists are mostly
interested in. Papeda is glue-like food that is most
delicious to have when still hot. The tasty
sensation of Papeda can be felt from the unique
eating manner; do not chew but immediately swallow,
when you feel hot in your stomach or chess take cold
water soon to cool it down.
Papeda raw material is from sago palm tree. The tree
is firstly chopped down then split into two. The
mound of sago in it is used as Papeda foodstuffs |
